Gaming

So finally got my joystick hooked up to my computer, took long enough. I had to reinstall windows XP to get it to work and in doing so but now up and running and Free Falcon is running like a pro... i do however miss the forcefeedback... but ive decided its really not worth going all the way back to windows 98 for, especially since they dont make drivers that far back anymore... and we start to run into all the same problems. Either way, Falcon 5 is sweet. Also their is new rumours of the possibility of their being a 5th Metal Gear game. this would be pretty epic news seeing as MGS4 was such a solid title, let alone the rest of the series. I think it could be very interesting what Kojima could do, im guessing... though just guessing their might be a significant online portion of the game mostly because the added online features of MGS4 might have been used to test the waters for the franchise. either way i look forward to hearing if it even is MGS5 that this website is reffering to http://www.konami.jp/kojima_pro/next/?ref=koji_pro_e

This is old news however that makes it all the more frightening, Intel has been collaborating with other groups in order to create a shapeshifting digital monster. now this creature they produce in the name of science, but i think this could definately lead to the start of a shapeshifting robotic nightmare. http://techresearch.intel.com/articles/Exploratory/1500.htm if the robots can no longer be restrained to the bodies that we make them then what is stopping them from moving beyond what we created them to do!

Zombie apocalypse or Robot Revolution - which is more likely? which is worse?

Concerts

Wow, so i use to play music and be pretty big into going to shows and what not and kids and drugs is a common scene at a place like that, you get use to it. Well i dont know what could have prepared me for the 50+ crowd tokin it up at a Greatful Dead concert. A specific moment was a few rows ahead of us, a group of likely 45 yr old friends, all looking very classy in their khakis and polos or golf sweaters passin around a home rolled doobie. I mean, im not one to judge but it was pretty wierd site to see, let alone the other thousands of people their partaking in the same activity... eye opening. Anyways its their choice i guess, just hope their kids dont find out! regardless the concert was sweet, the Doobie Bros are some classic jams, and the allman bros rocked out just straight, then the Greatful Dead, while very old, were lovin life and jammin too. it was sweet

Doobie Bros

Pretty stoked right now, ventured down into the states today. Going to a little concert with the Doobie Brothers, Allman Bros, and the Greatful Dead. Should be pretty wild, well i guess as wild as 5 - 60+ dudes can be with guitars and drums.... No it will be cool. I think just about all live music is sweet so im stoked. On the way down since i wasnt driving i watched topgun, so that is sick. For some reason flying has got me all psyched up right now, i guess its a combo of flight sims and movies, let alone the bad ass attire of leather jackets and aviator shades. That really gets the ladies, i guess maybe more so in the 80's but still cool nonetheless.

Also since i havent given an update on "Xenocide" in awhile i figure i better. the book is chalk full of problems right now, Ender has some serious figurin out to do dealing with his sister, Miro, the Hive queen, the pequinos, and now they just discovered that the descolada is possibly a sentient species and the heretic pequinos think its the Holy Spirit. I know one thing for sure, Orson Scott Card has unreal imagination and proves to write a very entertaining book!

Free Falcon

So way back when i M$ Sidewinder ForceFeedback Pro Joystick. That thing was unreal! now to me it still seems like the single most solid joystick ever created but M$ has been uber lame about supporting it, yes its old, no that doesnt mean im ready to give it up, modern joysticks look weak and cheap next to it, plus it had unreal force feedback with dual motors, none of this spring loaded stuff. Anyways it was built on windows 98, well they no longer support it past that. AKA not even in XP, apparently you can use default drivers with it, but then you lose the Force Feedback as well as any ability to switch your buttons or calibrate. This stick was a thing of beauty, now it is just a piece of M$ legacy that they dont care about

BTW im trying to hook it up to play free falcon 5, pretty sick looking combat flight sim!

Homework

So, even though its summer and im outa school...but in a job, i still wind up with homework. Its alright i dont mind doing it, because it gives me something to do at work, which is enthralling as it is. Nah its a good job. Anyways, my buddy needed help with some of his math from summer school so i took it to work. It is so hard going back to old math once you have gotten past harder math then subsequently forgotten it, its even harder to go back to the easier math from long ago. It was pretty tough, some trig stuff, darn cosines. yeah, but best website ever. www.puremath30.com unreal! its based on albertas curriculum, but thats probs similiar to most places. Anyways helped me for sure.

Other then that, not to much is going on, might go out for lunch with my dad he has a meeting and might pick me up after. That would be good, i got crap in my lunch today!

Phones! so, i want to get a blackberry but because of who my provider i cant get the phone i want... at least not yet, im hoping to get one of the new blackberries, either the 9030 or the 8930. Both look sweet and im stoked, but i wish i didnt have to wait all summer for this. Oh well thats technology i guess. Also google released some new stuff at least stuff i hadnt seen yet, the wonderwheel. An interesting feature i think more designed for people who dont know what their looking for... im guessing old people? but regardless it does seem like it could be handy if your trying to piece together something in your mind.

Either way i think its crazy that google has so much technology and i love it, they are changing the way the world works, in doing so they are also setting themselves up to control like the whole world... but i dont think that would be entirely bad.

Pirate Bay

This is a humourous turn of events if you have been paying attention to the recent Pirate Bay trial. They are being fined a dumb amount of money for something that they really didnt do. Sure they support piracy, and they help it along, though they never actually commit any real piracy. Anyways they dont want to pay the fine that they have been given they have divised a plan, http://www.blogpirate.org/2009/05/10/pirate-bay-founder-crafts-distributed-denial-of-dollars-attack/ they want to people online to pay small sums of money to the lawyers but eventually the lawyers themselves will be charged for each transaction more then the transaction is even worth. This is an excellent way that the pirate bay is sticking it to the man.
So this is my first blog, how cliche! but anyways im pretty stoked on it, i feel as though i have thrived on the internet for quite some time and it is finally time to take the step into the real blogospheres... Also i am at work and neccesitated something slightly entertaining. I am currently reading Xenocide, im only on chapter four, but its promising so far. Enders Game and Speaker for the dead were both phenomenal novels that i waited way to long to read, but im so glad i finally did. I think that was mostly influenced by XKCD's many references to such and me wanting to be part of the joke. Either way great books.

I think that really i want to blog so i can post links to sweet websites, now i know this is two XKCD references in a single post (he posted this site in his blog awhile ago), but you will thank me later... www.omegle.com... great website. It is the epitomy of the lack of inhibitions shown online, especially give anonymity. I think its hillarious, ive had many legitimate conversations, lots of randoms, and some that are just wierd, but give it a shot, i bet you will like it.
